Business Ethics & Travel Policies | CUSTOM Travel Solutions

Some companies have very firm travel policies. Their employees have to book only within the policies guidelines, ensuring there isn?t anyone taking advantage of the company. Other companies have ?travel guidelines?, allowing employees to be a little more liberated in their bookings but still ensuring there is some order within the companies procedures. Then there are some companies that have a ?free-for-all? policy. They have no rules or regulations that employees have to follow, allowing them to do as they please when it comes to booking business trips.

If you?re a business owner, what category would you fit in? Do you trust your employees enough to let them follow the ?free-for-all? policy, or do you like to make sure that they aren?t taking advantage and implement a firm travel policy that has virtually no loop holes?

If you?re an employee, most likely you?d prefer if you?re company fit in the fun category of ?free-for-all? booking but even if your work does have a firm policy, do you still find those loop holes? If you don?t have a policy do you take advantage of that? Do you try and book your trip at a higher cost to get more airline or hotel points? Do you wait till last minute to book in hopes that there will only be business class seats available?
